Landscape Architect | R.F. Binnie and Associates

My career in landscape architecture began in Canada in 2015 as a BCSLA Intern. Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked on school and institutional projects early on, and more recently on parks and playgrounds. I hold degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and am a licensed landscape architect in both British Columbia and Alberta. I am also a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. I’m passionate about designing inclusive, accessible public spaces, especially parks and playgrounds. My multicultural background informs my approach, and I strive to integrate diverse perspectives into my work. I am interested in supporting emerging professionals in landscape architecture through mentorship. Having navigated the challenges of entering the Canadian workforce as a newcomer ten years ago, I understand the uncertainty that graduating students often face. Mentorship offers a vital bridge between academic learning and professional practice, helping students build confidence, gain clarity, and feel supported as they take their first steps into the industry. My goal is to provide practical guidance, share insights from my own journey, and foster a supportive relationship that empowers the next generation of landscape architects. I believe that mentorship not only benefits the mentee, but it also enriches the mentor’s perspective and strengthens the profession as a whole.
