Intern Architect | Formosis Architecture
I was born in Buenos Aires and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 12. I studied architecture at the University of Manitoba, completing both a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture, and have now been working in the profession for approximately nine years. My experience has taken me through several different types of practice and cities, from work in Winnipeg, to a small architecture and interior design studio in New York, to small-scale housing in Vancouver, and now to mid-sized mixed-use and multi-residential projects at Formosis Architecture. My interests have always extended beyond buildings themselves. I am particularly interested in the relationship between architecture, urbanism, culture, and everyday life, which was also the focus of my graduate thesis on architectural vibrancy. Travel has been a major influence on how I think about architecture. Having spent a lot of time exploring cities and cultures around the world, I have become especially interested in how people inhabit places, how cities develop character, and how architecture reflects culture and everyday life. I also have experience teaching architecture, having worked as a design studio teaching assistant and instructor in digital drawing during graduate school. As a mentor, I would be happy to talk about design, professional practice, office culture, career direction, internships and registration, working in different types of firms, or the transition from school into practice. I especially enjoy helping students think through the many different paths a career in architecture can take.
