Architect
Yang is a Licensed Architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC). She has led and managed a wide range of cultural, community, educational, hospitality and residential projects across British Columbia, including both complex remote and urban contexts. Her work is driven by how spaces are experienced, remembered, and emotionally felt, and how the design intent is carried through development, documentation, and construction. Yang holds a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where her award-winning thesis, “Fenghuo: From Bloom to Harvest”, received the John Gaitanakis Prize in Architecture and was recognized for its focus on ecological thinking, cultural continuity, and experiential design within an evolving urban context. Her early training in Industrial Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, with an emphasis on social practice and community engagement, continues to inform her interdisciplinary approach. Yang works closely with communities and is passionate about creating meaningful interactions, narratives, and connections through the built environment. Her work respects culture, land, and people.
